MAINTENANCE
- Wipe shear blades with a soft, dry cloth
- Put a drop of oil between blades and behind the set screw
- Open & close shears several times to work oil into the pivot point.
- The oil and movement will draw out debris that has become lodged in the pivot.
- Wipe the blades clean
- Following cleaning, test shears for correct tension.
Always clean your shears before adjusting the tension. During use, hair clippings, chemicals and foreign particles can migrate to the set screw and clog the pivot joint. Removing debris and particles from shear surfaces may allow shears to move freely and tension adjustment may not be necessary.
Store your shears in dry place. Avoid dropping or bringing shears in contact with hard objects. Most important: USE THE SHEARS ONLY TO CUT HAIR!
SHARPENING
The shears that we carry have extremely long sharpness. However, we recommend that full-time stylists who use their shears daily sharpen them once every 9 months in order to prolong the life of your shears and maintain top cutting performance.
